Black Tuesday As Another journalist dies in Kogi


 

Tragedy again struck media practitioners in Kogi State as the Head of Editorial, News and Current Affairs Department, Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation Mrs Lucy Damian is dead.

Mrs Damian died in the early hours of Tuesday in Abuja.

It was gathered that late Damian celebrated her 50th birthday two week ago

Her death is coming few months after two staff of the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA in Kogi State Abdulazeez Ajinomo and Mr Shola Adewuyi lost their lives.

Before her demise, Mrs Damian is an ex official of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC in the state.

Meanwhile, prominent journalist in Kogi State have expressed shocked over the sudden demise of the veteran journalist.

The current Executive of the Nigeria Union of Journalist, NUJ, Kogi State Chapter led Adeiza Momoh on Tuesday morning paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased.

He said late Mrs Damian would be greatly missed for her immense contribution towards promoting journalism profession in the state.

The immediate past chairman Nigeria Union of Journalist, NUJ Comrade Ali Atabor described Mrs Damian as a complete woman who is honest and has used her position to impact the younger ones in the country.

 

Adding his voice, A colleague Ernest Zhokwo described Lucy Damian as an outstanding journalist who relates with colleagues with all liberality.

He consoles the family urging them to bear the irreplaceable loss adding that they should understand the fact that death is an end for all mortal.

Late Mrs Damian joined the Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation when the state was still under Benue State.
