Zone 8 – Zango tinsel street light – Signet of Ododo’s visionary leadership

As Wiston Churchill was, so was the Great Britain of his days, as Franklin Roosevelt was, so was the greatness of the America of his days, as Indra Ghandi was so was the great India of his days, as Murtala Muhammed was, so was discipline entrenched in his 120 days in office in Nigeria . I am therefore not surprised that in just ten months in office, the Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo’s positive leadership style has permeated the artery of Kogi State and beyond.
No doubt, Governor Ododo’s enviable performance in just ten months in office is a reflection of his personality borne out of his innate being as a caring leader who has prior to coming to office and for years had always felt the pulse of his immediate community and had over the years kept extending his hand of fellowship to them.
It is worthy to note here that while the struggle for the governorship slot for Kogi State was on top gear, Alhaji Ododo made the least noise in seeking the enviable position. To him – “Allah gives power to whomsoever he wants.”
Lets not forget the fact that Allah understands the hearts of his creation and he reads our hearts on a daily basis. Weighing the hearts of all the 2023 Kogi State governorship aspirants, Allah in his infinite mercies drop in the heart of former governor Yahaya Adoza Bello to beckon Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for the position. Today Kogi State is better for it in the choice of Allah in making Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo the Executive Governor of Kogi State.
In ten months, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has proven to Kogi people and the global community that he is a Chief Servant of the state. He has proven that the people of Kogi State are his first constituency and not self.
Governor Ododo abhors what the former Executive Editor of The Graphic newspaper, Donatus Okpe often referred to as “primitive accumulation of wealth.” Our amiable governor is very humble, loving and very compassionate for the welfare of the people of Kogi State.
In ten months, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has executed several people oriented projects which has direct bearing on the welfare of the entire people of Kogi State.
In ten months, Governor Ododo has completed litany of internal roads in Lokoja the state capital, he has provided hundreds of vehicles to all the security agencies in the state to promote peace in the state, he has provided tractors, fertilizers and pesticides to farmers in the state, he has paid over #600Million naira as WAEC fee for the final year students in public secondary schools, he has paid over #316Million as bursary allowances for Kogi State indigenous students in tertiary institutions across the Federation and abroad, he has released funds to all the state tertiary institutions to improve infrastructure with Kogi State University Kabba receiving over #8Billion for its Senate building, faculty of Science, male and female hostels.
Today, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is the first governor in the country to start the implementation of the new minimum wage of #70, 500 to Kogi State civil servants. He has also succeeded in adding #10, 000 each for the entire pensioners monthly allowance in the state. Since he assumed office he has been paying salaries of workers without failing between 23rd and 25th of every month. What a glorious feat for a governor who has his people at heart even in a state like Kogi with low internal revenue generation.
Without mincing words, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has done well in ten months and is still doing well for the people of Kogi State. And as it is often said in a generally accepted parlance – ” a golden fish has no place to hide.” That indeed is the person and great personality of the workaholic and highly performing governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
And now to the great story of Governor Ododo’s bold move in providing solar powered street lights from Zone 8 junction up to the end of Zango – GYB junction road. As we speak the road has become the cynosure of attraction at night to the people of the area, tourist and investors alike. This feat started with the completion of the construction of the Zone 8 junction – Zango – GYB junction road in so short a time by the Ododo led-administration. This feat indeed can only be achieved in so short a time by a governor who is selfless, a governor who makes the welfare of his people his first top priority.
Governor Ododo is indeed a politician’s politician, a true Democrat of no mean reputation. He is Kogi State electorates true political bride.
Today, my candid advice for the entire Kogi State electorates is to keep supporting our God sent governor, His Excellency, the Chief Servant of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo led-administration in the state.
