The victory of Barr. Natasha Akpoti Udaughan at the Appeal Court has been described as a victory for
political resilience, progressive democracy, women, youth inclusion and renewed hope in
the judiciary.
Former House of Representatives Candidate and Leader of the Betterlife Mandate
Organization, Ebenezer Avazi made the disclosure in a statement, congratulated Senator Natasha Akpoti-Oduaghan of the PDP on her victory at the Court of Appeal.
Recalled that the Appeal Court recently upheld Barr. Natasha’s election as the Senator representing Kogi Central at the National Assembly.
He said: “On behalf of myself and the Betterlife Mandate Organization, I hereby congratulate
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, on her well-deserved victory at the Court of Appeal.
“I also rejoice with the good people of Ihima and the entire Kogi Central. I pray that God will
preserve her with divine protection, good health and soundness of mind and bless her with
the wisdom required to set a better standard for quality representation in the 10th National
Assembly.
He however emphasized his total support for the candidacy of Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo of the APC in the forthcoming Gubernatorial Elections saying Ododo is the best candidate and
the choice of my people.
In his words: “You know that responsible politics is about the people’s choice and I am happy
that my personal conviction aligns perfectly with the choice of my people. Ododo has
demonstrated the Readiness, Capacity, and Maturity required to lead a progressive and united Kogi State. His campaign moves so far have been masterstrokes, and he has a clear
vision and understanding of what needs to be improved upon.
I therefore totally support his
candidacy, “I have directed all our associated support groups to work for him and I
congratulate him ahead on his imminent victory at the polls.
I also call on all stakeholders across political, ethnic and religious divides to work together
for the best interest of the state and nation”.
“What Kogi needs now is a leader with a wide support base across all divides to unite our people and build upon the gains of this current
administration as well as maximize the opportunity of a Tinubu Presidency to develop the
state”.
In conclusion, he said: “And let me plead for peace in our land. Politics of violence and bitterness does not benefit the people, therefore I call on all our leaders to prioritize the peace and unity of Kogi state in their choices, words and actions during and after the election”.
