The Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has sent condolences to the family of Katsina-born business tycoon, Alhaji Dahiru Mangal, over the passing of his beloved mother, Hajiya Murja Bara’u.
Hajiya Murja, aged 85, took her last breath in the early hours of Friday after a brief illness.
She has since been buried according to the Islamic rites as the funeral prayer took place on the same day.
However, in a statement issued on Saturday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onogwu Muhammed, Bello said he joined President Muhammadu Buhari and other illustrious sons and daughter of Katsina in mourning the death of Hajiya.
He described the late Hajiya as a community leader par excellence, noting her contributions to the grassroots.
“It is no doubt that Alhaji Dahiru inherited Hajiya Murja’s generosity and industriousness. Hajiya’s life was one well spent and she will be missed by the people of Katsina,” the Governor added.
“May Almighty Allah grant Hajiya a final resting place in the world beyond.”
He then prayed that God will comfort Alhaji Dahiru and other members of the family over the death of their matriarch.
