The Vice Chancellor of Kogi State University Kabba, Professor Kehinde Eniola has disclosed the University is working hard to become a centre of academic excellence.
This is as the Vice Chancellor disclosed that the university will be matriculating It first set of 1,200 students on Tuesday.
The VC made the disclosure, Monday during the maiden matriculation press conference at the University campus in Kabba, said more candidate are still applying for various courses in the institution even as he disclosed that the institution have it target.
The Vice Chancellor of the newly established Kogi State University said that he is working very hard with his management team to ensure that the Ivory tower becomes best in academic excellence in Nigeria and beyond.
He said that the institution is determined from the beginning to raise students that would be nationally and globally recognize, in their various fields of study..
According to the VC, the management is working with some partners to provide an affordable accommodation for the students, assuring that their security on campus is of utmost concern to the University authority.
He commended Governor Yahaya Bello for putting every necessary requirements in place to ensure the smooth take off of the institution.
The VC added that 25 academic programmes have been approved by the National University Commission, (NUC), adding that the IJMB will Commence immediately to create apportunity for those who do no meet the entry requirements of the University.
He advised the students to take their studies, seriously as the University intends to be different in their approach to both academic and student discipline on campus.
