Uniben VC Meets With NELFUND Officials , Seeks Enrollment Of More Uniben Students Into The System

In furtherance of his students – centred endeavours, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Professor Edoba Omoregie, SAN, has met with officials of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, to discuss the prospect of getting more Uniben students’ enrolment into the scheme.
Professor Omoregie lamented what he described as the current abysmal enrolment figures and appealed for more opportunities for more beneficiaries .
The Executive Director, Operations of NELFUND, Mr Mustapha Iyal, who, along with other officials,received the Vice Chancellor, congratulated him for his well deserved appointment. He identified inadequate sensitisation and doubt about authenticity of the fund as primary reasons for the low enrollment.
Iyal , “expressed readiness of the scheme to include as many students of the University as possible only if they apply and meet the guidelines”.
“Sensitisation is what the students fully need let them be aware of the value and usefulness of NELFUND. Once they are qualified and meet the required guidelines they will be included.” He stated.
Professor Omoregie is expected to visit other organisations as part of his networking agenda.
