The remains of Elder Francis Olatunji, elder brother of an Assistant Director General, DSS, Rtd, Dr. Williams Toyin Akanle has been laid to rest at his country home, Makutu, Isanlu in Yagba East Local Government of Kogi State.
Elder Francis Olatunji died on 11th April, 2021 in Ilorin, Kwara State in a brief illness.
The Burial attracted family of the deceased, Team Akanle Political Organization, politicians including a Frontline Governorship Aspirant, Prince Dayo Akanmode, Alhaji Ganiyu Salaudeen, members of the ECWA Church as well as sympathizers who gathered to pay their last respect to the Late Educationist.
The Chairman of ECWA DCC in Ilorin, Kwara State, Rev. J.S Owoeye in a sermon, charged the congregation to always live in preparation of death which he noted is a necesity for all mortals.
Rev. Owoeye said the duration of one’s service to God is not a guarantee for eternity, urging the people to be mindful of the fact that they will give account of their stedwardship.
He enjoined Christians to avoid all forms of vices as God will reward every act of mankind and described Late Elder Francis Olatunji as an upright and dedicated man who served God and humanity while on earth.
The Clergyman prayed God to grant the deceased peacful rest and the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Speaking on behalf of the family, the younger Brother of the deceased, Dr. Williams Toyin Akanle thanked all who identified with them in their moment of grief and prayed God to reward their kind heart.
Dr. Akanle added that his Late brother will be greatly missed for his wise counsel as the vacuum created will be too difficult to fill.
Until his death, Elder Francis Olatunji was a devouted Christian, a Community Leader and an Inspirational motivator.
He is survived by his wife, Dr Felicia Funsho Olatunji and Children as well as other siblings including, Dr Toyin Akanle, mni Assistant Director General, DSS, Rtd; Dr Florence Olutunu Daramola, An Associate Professor, Department of Educational Technology, University of Ilorin.
