The Disability Community in Kogi State have expressed commendation to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and Kogi State Science Technical Education and the Teaching Service Commission (STETSCOM), for the Successful conduct of the Aptitude test for Teachers Recruitment held in the State.
The Disability Community spoke through the Kogi State Executive Director, Office of the Disability Affairs, Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael, said report from the disability community indicates that persons with disabilities got special treatment during the Aptitude test.
Barr. Dare urged other MDAs to emulate the efforts of the Ministry of Education and STETSCOM in the special treatment given to PWDs during the Aptitude test, described it as commendable.
The Executive Director however called on the full implementation of the law for people with disability, demanded for 10% employment opportunities for the Disability Community.
The Executive Secretary appreciated the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones and Mrs. Cecilia Cook for organizing a seamless Aptitude test that was Inclusive, took cognisance of persons with disabilities, however said what is now left is the full application of the 10% for PWDs.
