The continued huge investment in the educational sector by the Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration is a clear signal for greater development for the good people of Kogi State.
If any society must attain greatness it’s foundation must strongly be planted in the educational sector. Education is the only institution which provides knowledge in every sector of development.
It is a known fact that if education takes its firm root in any society, the people will be better of in terms of socio-infrastructural development. The educational sector today has become one of the core fulcrum of the Chief Servant of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration because of its significant role in the development of the people of the state.
Governor Ododo in his wisdom firmly understands the importance and power of education in the lives of Kogi people and has continued to Invest hugely in the sector. Education has become one of his conquering weapon to liberate the state from underdevelopment.
Governor Ododo does not believe in policies rhetorics rather he has continued to move the baton of his administration on a daily basis by matching his words with actions. In local parlance his actions are widely referred to “talk and do governor.”
When His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo paid the WAEC fee of #600M for 18,734 final year secondary school students in public secondary schools, he never made any political statements before he paid the fee. He rather chosed to approve the payment before it was made public. This of course is what true leadership stands for. I mean, leadership which takes congnisance of the weight of the educational financial burden of the less priveledge in the society and offsets it. This indeed is the centre spread of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo’s ten months administration in Kogi State.
Today parents and guardians of final year students in public secondary schools in Kogi State have placed Governor Ododo on their lips on a daily basis by acknowledging his rare and unprecedented intervention in the education sector in the state. They understood that for some of them who have two to three wards in the final year, the WAEC fee payment by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is a huge financial relief from their pockets. Even for those with one ward they are thanking Governor Ododo for taking away the financial stress of the WAEC payment fee from off their shoulders. As we speak, many parents and guardians cannot thank the governor enough.
While the joy of the WAEC fee payment is still fresh on the lips of the people the governor took another educational giant step by approving the bursary payment of #316M for 8,750 Kogi students in various tertiary institutions in the country and abroad. Again, Parents, Guardians and students alike poured out on the streets to praise the Chief Servant of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for promoting education in the state through the payment of the bursary allowances.
As he has been known as a genuine humble administrator par excellence, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is not a politician who awaits praises rather service to humanity has remained to be his core policy thrust in his administration. Towards this end, the Chief Servant of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo disbursed over eight billion naira for the development of of educational infrastructure at the newly established Kogi State University Kabba. These funds will be used in putting up the Senate building, faculty of Science, male and female hostels of the institution. Here indeed is a governor who strongly believes that the greatness of Kogi State lay in its size of educational attainment. His bold and practical moves towards the strengthening of the educational sector in the state can safely be said to be a move in the true right direction.
His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is already foreseeing the greatness of Kogi State and he is strongly building and investing hugely in the educational sector. Our governor as it stands is a visionary politician who is solidly laying the foundation of a better and great Kogi state. He deserves our applause at all times.
