Solid Minerals Minister Lauds Gov. Ododo’s willingness, Collaboration Aimed at Moving Mining Sector Forward.
The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has been praised for his collaboration with the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development.
Gov. Ododo was equally praised for the willingness of the State to obey the Nigeria Mining Act and other federal Government mining regulatory body.
Dr. Henry Dele Alake, the Minister For Solid Minerals Development gave the commendation at the Annual General Meeting of the Chairmen of State Mineral Resources and Environmental Management Committee ( MIREMCO)
The Kogi State Governor was represented by the Kogi State Commissioner For Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr Bashiru Gegu who today attended the meeting held at Barcelona hotels Abuja.
The MIREMCO meeting was held under the leadership of Dr. Henry Dele Alake, Hon Minister of Solid Minerals Development.
The Chairman of MIREMCO Kogi state Chapter, Engr Abubakar Bashir Muhammad, at the meeting hammered on the state government’s readiness to provide the right enabling environment as well as the ease of carrying out mining businesses in the state.
The Commissioner reiterated on the Governor’s commitment to support the development of the sector, added that the Federal Mines Officers and the Mines Environmental compliance officers are in working in synergy and collaboration to move the sector forward in the State.
He assured genuine Miners and activities of adequate security and return on investment, however urged them to ensure that they are registered properly to do business in the State.
