Shun Corrupt Tendencies, Kogi HoS Tasks ANAN Members.


Members of Association of the National Accountant of Nigeria Kogi State branch have been urged to shun all forms of corrupt tendencies that are inimical  to the development of the state.

The State Head of Service, Mrs Hannah  Ohinoyi -Odiyo made the remark when she received members of the Association in her office in lokoja.

The Head of Service said the association over the years has worked effectively to ensure the smooth running of governance.

Mrs Hannah Ohinoyi Odiyo charge members of the association to always guide government in ensuring  effective governance, adding that the present administration would continue to encourage   ANAN to discharge it duties  with almost sincerity.

She explained that her office would also continue to partner with ANAN in the area of strengthening relationship with government and commended the resilient and patriotism  of members to ensure efficiency.

Mrs Hannah Ohinoyi Odiyo disclosed that train and retraining of workforce would be given priority, adding that the new circular from the Federal Government has superseed the previous one hence the government would not relent efforts on its responsibilities

The Head of Service commended the association for the visit  , stressing that the present administration under governor Yahaya Bello would work  tirelessly to develop the state.

Earlier, the State Branch Chairman of the  Association (ANAN), Alhaji Iliasu Ihiabe said the association was in her office to familiarize and identify with  her as number one civil servant in the state.

Alhaji Iliasu Ihiabe called on the Head of Service to ensure that the outstanding promotions of the state civil servants, Annual incremental step, leave bonuses are implemented by the present administration to reduce hardship.

The Chairman draw the attention of the Head of Service to the paragraph two of the circular from the office of the Head of Service of the  Federation on the use of  only academic qualifications for entry into the civil/ public service of the Federation.

Alhaji Iliasu Ihiabe hope that the issue will be addressed to enable members who hold professional qualifications such as ANAN and ICAN be promoted as  Kogi State Civil Service Commission is about to conduct another round of promotion exercise.

He commended the H.O.S for the opportunity given them on the courtesy visit, adding that this would strengthening good relationship with ANAN and office  of the Head of Service in the state.
