Very Rev Fr. Dr. Andrew Obinyan, a respected and admirable clergyman, took the Goodnews to Youth of Trade Fair/Ogbe-Ibuya community,Ekehuan Road, in a popular beer parlour;a joint where the youth hang out to relax and watch soccer,as a demonstration his commitment to engaging with diverse segments of community.
Fr. Obinyan sought to bridge the gap between the church and the community youth. His visit was necessitated by his unending desire to understand l concerns and aspirations of the youth; fostering a dialogue that transcends the boundaries of the Church.During his interactions with the visibly excited youth of Trade Fair/Ogbe-Ibuya community,
Fr. Obinyan articulated his vision for the Nigerian Youth and presented a compelling case for leadership that could positively impact lives by a unique blend of pastoral and political acumen.
The Youth in turn, commended Fr. Obinyan for identifying with them, opening doors of academic opportunities that may have remained closed. They remarked that beyond financial support, Fr. Obinyan has given scholarships and facilitated admissions for numerous students,uplifting widows,giving pipe borne water, and payment of medical bills for the needy in the community.Fr. Obinyan’s reassured the youth that, he will remain anchored on God in dispensing heavenly and material blessings .
His slogan speaks: “ONE WITH GOD PLUS(+) THE PEOPLE.”
Recall that several youth and students groups and well-meaning Edo people have been beckoning on Fr. Andrew Aigbe Obinyan,from Ubiaja, to run as Governor in Edo 2024.Rumours regarding his political platform or declaration are heard only through the grapevine.
