There is a big relief on Thursday as the rest of Kogi pensioners not paid last week got alert of their full payments.
The state government had last explained that the delay in paying all pensioners at the same time was due to poor network at the paying bank ,namely United Bank for Africa,UBA and Access Banks.
Punch had reported that the state Commissioner for Finance Ashiwaju Idris Ashiru had told journalists in Abuja that money for pensioners had been deposited into the banks involved but poor Network had prevented those banks from disbursing alongside others resulting in some not getting their at the same time.
However, our correspondent learnt that the obstacles caused by the poor network have been removed and others had started receiving their alerts as at 12 midnight on Thursday.
Some of the pensioners spoken to by our Correspondent expressed joy at the new development adding that, the government had shown that they have listening ears.
” The promptness in responding to the complaint of pensioners is a pointer to Governor Bello’s ability to replicate such ability at the national level”.
The pensioner who did not want his name in print called on Nigerians to give Bello a chance to reposition the economy for the betterment of all.
