The leadership and members of Fancy Media Team (FMT) has charged the newly inaugurated members of Kogi State 8th Assembly to as a matter of priority, placed people’s welfare higher above their individual interest in their legislative engagements.
The media team made this known at the inaugural ceremony of the 8th Assembly held on 6th May, 2023 at Speaker’s Lodge in Lokoja, Kogi State.
Fancy Media Team maintained that the lawmakers’ fundamental assignment is a service to the people of the state who elected them as representatives and therefore urged them to be dutiful to citizen of the state.
The statement reads in part “While assuring the lawmakers of our unalloyed support, we sincerely commended them for rare display of maturity in electing Speaker of the House, Hon. Umar Aliyu representing Lokoja II Constituency; Deputy Speaker, Hon. Enema Paul and Majority Leader, Hon. Suleiman Abdulrazak Sariki (SAS) representing Okene I Constituency and other Principal Officials who would be vested with responsibility of leading the Assembly”
The team aptly noted that legislation is a crucial assignment and one of the most important instruments of government in organizing, developing, enacting laws which stabilizes society and protect citizens and called for adequate understanding and working relationship with other arms of the government.
In the same vein, Fancy Media Team urged to All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the Assembly to up their game in ensuring that the APC Governorship Candidate, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman (OAU) wins the next gubernatorial election to ensure consolidation on the giants stride of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello.
