Prince Suleiman Adinoyi Embarks on Familiarity Tour, Seeks Synergy With INEC, NOA, Others


The Special Assistant (S.A) on Grassroot Sensitization to Governor Yahaya Bello, Prince Suleiman Adinoyi has harped on the importance of the Continous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise and charged eligible voters who has not registered to seize the opportunity to get captured in INEC database and obtain their permanent Voter Cards (PVC) for them to be able to exercise their franchise in the forth-coming 2023 general elections in the country.

He made the call when he visited Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Okene, to know the state of affairs of the on-going CVR registration exercise in the area.

Responding, the Assistant Electoral Officer, (AEO) Registration Area Centre (RAC), Mall. Is’yak Iliyasu, lamented the low turn out of the people of the area for the exercise.

According to him, *the few new polling units might be merged with the old existing polling units if it does not meet up with the required number needed for creating a polling unit.* He appealed to the people of the area to show interest in the exercise and to be acquainted with adequate information before proceeding with online registrations.

Others who spoke at the meeting where Mrs Felicia Ozigi, Assistant Electoral Officer, Admin and Mrs Abdulazeez Zainab, Assistant Electoral Officer, Operation.

In his response, Prince Suleiman commended INEC for the exercise and promised to reach out to relevant stakeholders in the area to mobilize the people of voting age to participate in the exercise.

Prince Suleiman also urged INEC to deploy more device to field for a wider coverage of the exercise, assuring them of the state Government’s maximum support and coorporation of the people of the area.

In a related development, Prince Suleiman also paid a coutesy call on the office of the National Orientation Agency, (NOA), Okene.

He commended NOA and charged them to arouse the consciousness of all categories of people in the area to their rights and privileges, and expressed optimism that with Governor Yahaya Bello’s determination to fix Kogi state, things would begin to shape up.

He assured of his office coorporations with all agencies, both Government and Non-Governmental in the area, to better the lives of the people at the grassroot level.
