Critical stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Olamaboro Local Government of Kogi State have endorsed the candidature of Capt. Joe Agada as the chairman of the PDP in the State.

Ahead of the State congress to elect new State working committee to oversee the affairs ot the party in Kogi State, Olamaboro party executives, stakeholders, leaders and elders were in Abuja before the Sen. Lar’s caretaker commitee to seek free and fair elections.

Recall that the Tom Zekeri report had micro-zoned the position of the State chairman to Olamaboro Local Government Area in kogi State which was later ratified by the special review committee headed by the former Governor of Kogi State, HE. Alhaji Ibrahim Idris and co-chaired by his successor, Capt. Idris Ichala Wada.

After series of meetings by the Olamaboro Local Government Area stakeholders, they unanimously agreed and endorsed the candidature of Capt. Joe Agada as the next chairman of Kogi state PDP chapter.

Speaking before the Sen. Danjuma Lar led CTC in Abuja, Hon Yakubu Mohamed, the chairman of the party in Olamaboro said that all the attempts by some group of people to abuse the legitimacy and privileges of Olamaboro will be resisted fiercely.

“Before now, external forces have been depriving us of our benefits, but this time around God has destined us as a Local Government to chair our party. It is pertinent to bring this to your notice that the Tom Zekeri report and the Review committee reports be respected and allow for a free and fair election at the congress” Hon. Mohammed said.

Senator Danjuma Lar received the delegation and assured of a transparent, free and credible congress. He noted that politics is about contestation and where there is no consensus, “we will sure go to the field and observe the ethos of democracy, which is election”.

The leader of the party in Olamabroro LG and a former two (2) times Kogi State House of Assembly Member, Hon. Zekeri Ohemi commended the Sen. Lar led CTC for his leadership style so far.

“The chairman has spoken well. We got what we wanted. We want election and not selection. We have also come to inform you that we the Local Government structure and leaders are solidly behind Capt. Joe Agada.
You have steered the ship in CTC capacity, justice and fairness and we are happy that you going to support a level playing ground,” Hon. Ohemi concluded.

Signed
Team Joe Agada
