The Police has rearrested three fleeing inmates who escaped from Kabba Prison after Gunmen attacked and break into Kabba Prison.
Recall that hundreds of prisoners escaped from the medium federal correctional centre in Kabba, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State after the attack.
The Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 8, Ayuba Edeh, confirmed the attack, said the State Commissioner of Police and other heads of security agencies have swang into action to do an assessment of the cause of the break.
It was gathered that Gunmen in their tens attacked the prison centre which is on the Kabba – LOKOJA highway, on Sunday night through Monday morning, killing the military men keeping guide on the road before attacking the centre.
The gunmen thereafter launched attack on the prison officers before making ways to set all the prisoners free.
The three arrested inmates according to a Police Source, said they were taking refuge at a hotel premises in Kabba after escaping, but had to hide not knowing where to go and not having transport fare to their destination.
It was gathered that residents alerted the police of the whereabouts of the escaped prisoners.
For now the Police are on the trail of other inmates with survellance mounted at strategic locations.
