In the early hours of Thursday, the 23rd day of June, 2022, reports had it that the former Deputy Senate President of Nigeria, Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu were both arrested in London for alleged case of child trafficking and attempt to harvest a child’s organ, the couples have finally reacted to the allegation.

Both couples have bodily denied the reports that they tried to harvest a child’s organ.
Recall that they were both charged to the Uxbridge Magistrate Court where they were denied bail, remanded in custody and their case adjourned to July 7th, 2022 as they were charged for bringing a 15-year-old homeless bit to London.

According to Senator Ike Ekwerwmadu’s Lawyer through whom he reacted to the allegation, Gavin Irwin, he told the court that at no stage did he arrange transport for anyone with the intention of exploiting them.

According to Daily Mail, Irwin said, “There is no question that this is a serious allegation. Mr Ekweremadu is a member of the senate in Nigeria. He has previously held an even more senior role as deputy president of the senate.
He said that Ekweremadu is also a bar member in Nigeria and a principal in a Law Firm that has his name to it.

He said that haven taken the above listed into perspective, that Senator Ekweremadu is a person of good character and that he has led a blameless life as a public servant.
According to the wife’s lawyer through whom she reacted to the allegation, Antonia Gray, she said that Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu has never been involved with or complicit to any alleged illegal trafficking of any young person. She said that the woman is a financial accountant with an unblemished record.

The prosecutor then requested for the case to be adjourned to the next 14 days which the Judge obliged.
