Omala NULGE Flags off Distribution of 600 Bags of Rice, 50 Handsets, 50 mattresses to staffers.

 

The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Omala LGA Chapter, has flagged off the distribution of Rice, Mattresses and Handsets to it members.

Briefing Newsmen on the gesture, Omala LG NULGE Chairman who doubles as the Joint Action Union, Kogi Eastern flank, Comr. Yusuf Muktar, attributed the feat to the enabling environment created by Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo’s administration.

According to the NULGE Chairman, the union is distributing 600 bags of rice, 50 mattresses, 50 and Handsets, to beneficiaries .

Beneficiaries he explained are expected to pay over a four months period starting from February.

He added that once the beneficiaries are through with the payments, other items he added will be included for other beneficiaries to benefit,

He added that the feat was made possible because of the improved salary situation to the staffs, attributed the achievements to the implementation of the new minimum wage by Gov. Ododo.

The NULGE Chairman said the new minimum wage moved staff earnings form the earlier N12,000 and N23,000 to the least now earning now around N89,000 in the LG system.

NULGE he added felt the need to commit the workers, said with the salary Increase so as to enable them have something for themselves.

The driving force for NULGE, the Chairman explained is as a result of Gov Ododo’s implementation of the new minimum wage, pointing out that the increase has gone a long way towards improving on the living standard of the workers at the grassroots.
