As part of activities to mark it’s Annual General Meeting, a group known as Okun Daughters Forum has donated food items, beverages and toiletries to Rehoboth Children Home Lokoja.
The Convener of the Forum Dr. Olukemi Ayodele while speaking during a visit to the Orphanage, noted that the donation was to identify with the Children in the spirit of the Yuletide period and to mark the AGM of the Organization.
According to Dr. Ayodele, the Forum is satisfied with the management of the Orphanage Home and called on well-to-do individuals to render assistance to the newly established orphanage.
She said the Association decided to pull resources together to put smiles on the faces of the children at a time like this.
The Founder of the home, Chief Modupe Oluwatoyin Olaitan thanked God for the opportunity to cater for the children from her personal resources so far.
Chief Olaitan called on government and individuals to support the home so they can do more.
In her words: “I trust in God that has kept the home going and I believe that when God calls, He will provide the resources. I call on the society not to abandon their children even when they think they’re unwanted. It is better to walk up to Rehoboth Children’s Home instead of dumping them”.
She added that the Home was established to raise the foundation of many generations as every rejected child is our treasure.
Other members of the Forum at the visit include; the National President, Hon. Towonifinni Bosede Mosiko, Secretary, Oluremi Orebiyi, Welfare officer, Mrs Tinuola Taiwo, PRO Wasilat Adesina and Mrs. Kemi Olle Baikie among others.
