DAILY POST had reported that terrorists bombed the facility, setting free about 600 inmates, including high-caliber criminals.
In a statement signed by the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, OYC, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike and the Secretary, Comrade Obinna Achionye, the group said the development was a clear indication that bandits had taken over total control of the country.
Ohanaeze wondered how “terrorists were able to launch such a darling attack in the Federal Capital Territory for several hours unchallenged. This is a clear case of conspiracy and heads must have to roll. There should be a panel of inquiry into the recent security breaches in the country.
Sources have also confirmed that a total of 11 people were killed in the deadly attack on Kuje Prisons in Abuja on Tuesday by Suspected Ansaru Terrorists.
However, the Nigerian Correctional Services, NCS has successfully recaptured several Inmates that escaped during a Terror Attack on Kuje Prison.
POLITICS NIGERIA earlier reported that hundreds of inmates escaped after gunmen suspected to be Ansaru Terrorists stormed the facility on Tuesday night with bombs and heavy gunfire.
Speaking on the matter, Defense Minister, Bashir Magashi revealed that all Boko Haram Inmates at the Facility escaped
He confirmed that the prison accommodates about 994 inmates, over 600 escaped and many have been recaptured and brought back to the prison.
“Maybe by the close of the day, more will have been captured and returned” he added.
