By joshua Ododo’s SA, Hon. Nathaniel Taiwo Empowers 130 Women in Bunu With ₦20,000 Cash and Wrappers Each
In line with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s agenda for shared prosperity and grassroots development, the Special Adviser to the Governor on State Capital Development, Hon. Amb. Nathaniel Ojo Taiwo, has empowered over 130 women across the six wards in Bunu District, Kabba/Bunu LGA.
Each beneficiary received ₦20,000 cash grant and a high-quality wrapper to support their small-scale businesses and provide immediate economic relief.
The mega empowerment programme held at his residence in Okebukun, drew community leaders, party stalwarts, and market women associations.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Taiwo, a former Chairman of Kabba/Bunu LGA, described the gesture as a direct extension of the Ododo administration’s commitment to poverty reduction.
“What we are doing today is not just an empowerment, it is a deliberate investment in the dignity and economic resilience of our people. By providing these cash grants, we are injecting immediate liquidity into local small businesses, and by gifting these wrappers, we are restoring a sense of pride to our women,”_ he said.
The Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, commended the initiative and assured that more interventions would be rolled out by Governor Ododo in the coming weeks. He urged the people to continue supporting the administration’s programmes.
Also present, the Kogi State Security Adviser, Comdr. Jerry Omodara, and Hon. Alfred Bello applauded Hon. Taiwo for giving back to his people. They called on beneficiaries to reciprocate by supporting the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming elections.
One of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude:
“Many politicians only show up during elections, but Hon. Nathaniel Ojo Taiwo has shown that this administration cares about our daily survival. The cash will expand our trade, and the beautiful wrappers make us feel valued.”
The empowerment is described as another milestone in Hon. Taiwo’s ongoing efforts to reduce grassroots poverty and strengthen public support for the Governor’s transformational agenda.
