By joshua ODODO HOSTS IGBO COMMUNITY, COMMENDED FOR ₦50M IGBO HALL RENOVATION DONATION, REAFFIRMS INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP
On Saturday, 13 June 2026, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA, received with great joy a delegation from the Igbo Community Association (ICA), who paid him the 2026 Sallah Homage at the Government House, Lokoja.
The delegation was led by the President-General of the ICA, Chief Matthew Nwafor, and comprised political appointees of Igbo extraction serving under the Ododo administration, members of the ICA Executive Council, traditional chiefs, past ICA leaders, key stakeholders, women as well as youth representatives.
In his address, Chief Nwafor stated that the visit was to express the profound appreciation of the Igbo community for the Governor’s inclusive leadership and unwavering support for Ndigbo in Kogi State. He particularly commended the Governor for the recent donation of ₦50 million towards the renovation of the Igbo Community Hall in Lokoja. He added that the delegation also came to pay the 2026 Sallah Homage and to reaffirm the steadfast support of the Igbo community in Kogi State for Governor Ododo’s re-election bid in 2027.
Responding, Governor Ododo expressed his delight at receiving the delegation and commended the Igbo Community Association for what he described as the “smart and digital” manner in which the Sallah Homage was organized. He thanked the Igbo community for their continued loyalty, cooperation, and solidarity with his administration, assuring them that he would always remain accessible and responsive to their concerns whenever called upon.
Members of the delegation expressed their admiration for Governor Ododo’s exceptional warmth, approachability, and down-to-earth humility throughout the engagement. They noted that his cordial reception and genuine interaction with them further strengthened their confidence in his leadership and deepened the bond between his administration and the Igbo community in Kogi State.
