Sequel to a formal invitation extended to His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello by the Lieutenant Governor of Delaware, Bethany Hall Long to visit the state, a delegation to represent His Excellency led by the Honourable commissioner of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris,FCA was in Delaware for the purpose of consumating a viable partnerships and collaboration between Kogi state Government, Delaware Africa Caribbean coalition(DACC) and State of Delaware for mutual economic benefit.
Owing to the budding partnership and ongoing developmental relationship between the Kogi State Government and the state of Delaware through the auspices of Delaware Africa Caribbean coalition(DACC), which has seen both States exchange visits in quick succession, is already raking in values to the state. The follow up visit to the state of Delaware by Kogi state delegation speaks volume of the mutual readiness to harness the huge benefits therein.
The two states are tenaciously working towards engedering a partnership that works in the areas of Educational advancement, improved Health care, Agricultural development, Rural access, Youth Enterpreneurship&Empowerment and other explorable sectors. The visit of Kogi state delegation provided the ample opportunity to further discuss critical development issues with Africans in diaspora and potential investors, a meeting that’s already driving home values as envisaged.
While the kogi state delegation visited Newcastle in Delaware, the Executive of the county, Mr Meyer Mathew declared and set aside every November 19th as Governor Yahaya Bello’s day. A day to celebrate his alluring personae, his pro-people ideology and recount his giant strides of selfless service to Kogites and humanity in general.
In the words of Mr Meyer Mathew, the New Castle County Executive, “In New castle county we have a very strong process of administering honours, especially setting aside a day, it’s for shining figures who has shown commitment towards advancing the course of humanity, foster unity, preach love, promotes justice, equity and development in the society”. After serious checks and tight scrutiny, Governor Yahaya Bello fits in well into the league of these noble personalities”.
He said the honour done on Governor Yahaya Bello is premised on his record of stellar accomplishments in the confluence state which cut across sectors like Health, Education, Road Infrastructure, Agriculture, Youth Empowerment, sound Fiscal management and his bridge building effort towards fostering bond of love amongst tribes in the state. Emperical evidences received from our delegation that visits Kogi State and the prior information about Governor Yahaya Bello’s unprecedented strides of Good Governance that thrives on transparency and accountability validates his place in our hall of Honour in the Newcastle County, Mr Meyer stated.
The Kogi delegation led by the Honourable commissioner of Finance,Budget and Economic Planning, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris,FCA expressed deep appreciation onbehalf of His Excellency, the administration he leads and the entire people of Kogi state for this great honour, saying it’s a signal the new direction Government is on the right path on launching Kogi to a Greater height.
