…Deputy hands over Vehicles to CUSTECH, Kickstart Novelty Match for Bello @ 46
In furtherance of its Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, the Nigerian Maritime Administration, and Safety Agency, NIMASA, on Thursday, distributed empowerment machinery targeting Internally Displaced Persons occasioned by perennial flooding in Kogi State.
Deputy Governor, Chief (Dr.) Edward Onoja had earlier received in audience, Representatives of the Agency, led by Mr. Owonubi Olajide who said the gesture was in fulfillment of commitments to the enthronement of global best practices in the provision of maritime services in Nigeria.
He noted that the gesture was to complement the efforts of the Kogi State Government to cushioning the effects of flooding in prone areas of the State.
Chief Onoja whilst commending the efforts of the Agency for the noble gesture, described it as “a respite and a new lease of life for the victims of perennial flooding in Kogi State.
He disclosed that the items targeting Small and Medium-sized entrepreneurs affected by the floods, which includes tricycles, motorcycles, watering pumps, grinding and sewing machines, amongst others, would as a matter of State policy, be judiciously distributed to these targeted beneficiaries.
Also in attendance were the Kogi State Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Sunday Faleke, KSHA member representing Olamaboro State Constituency, Hon. Bobby Ujah, Executive Secretary of the Kogi State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, Mr. Obari Sunday, amongst others.
In the company of the Secretary to the Kogi State Government, the Head of Service, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, the Vice Chancellor of of the institution and members of his staff along with
and his aides, the Deputy Governor donated some vehicles on behalf of His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello to the management of Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara (CUSTECH), Kogi State.
Afterwards, the Deputy Governor performed the kick-off ceremony at a novelty match between Confluence Queens and the State Under-15 Academy at the Kogi Confluence Stadium, Lokoja which was in commemoration of Gov Bello’s 46th birthday anniversary which is tomorrow.
