Nigerians Tasked On Living Behind Legacies of Good Names Not Riches – Pastor Mike Baba


 

Nigerians have been tasked to strive to live behind good names as legacies and not riches while alive.

Pastor Mike Baba of Charis Bible Church International Lokoja gave the admonition in a message as a guest Preacher at the Interdenominational Wake Keep Service in honour of Late Chief Mrs Awawo Uboyih Inaju, the Onekhakha of Weppa Wanno Kingdom.

Chief Mrs. Awawo Uboyi Inaju, the Onekhakha of Weppa Wanno Kingdom, Etsako East LGA, Edo State, passed on to glory on 21st November 2021, at the ripe old age of 92.

The Guest Preacher urged Nigerians Particularly Christians to make the right choices between life and death, urged them to choose life through living a holy life so that they may live forever after they die.

The Clergy man disclosed that good name is better than great riches, urged Christians not to
make their names a liability for your children after their demise.

Pastor Mike Baba charged Christians to make their names an asset and not a liability, described the day of death as a day that signifies an end to crisis for those who are in Christ, described Late Chief Mrs Awawo Uboyih Inaju as a woman who lived a holy life of service to God and humanity.

He urged Christians not to see death as a period of mourning but for joy as it brings man into eternity if they die in Christ, said every one will face judgment after death reason why they must strive for good deeds and good name.

Pastor Mike Baba says death is not a respecter of class, said in death all men will come to judgement according to their good deeds and a life of holiness, said irrespective of status, class and riches death is a leveller.

He disclosed that man is nothing but dust, said from dust we come and to him we shall return as dust reason why it is regrettable to build treasures on earth, said the only treasure man can save for himself is when he dies in Christ.

The Clergy man called on the children left behind by Late Chief Mrs Awawo Uboyih Inaju to follow in her footsteps by committing to salvation, service to God and humanity, said her treasures after her demise showed that she is rich in Christ.

Earlier in a tribute, the Representatives of the Vice Chancellor of University of Jos, Mr D Adoration, the National President of University of Jos Alumni, Pastor Nuhu Sanni, the Kogi State Chapter President of University of Jos, Dr. Jimmy, Barr. Stephen Ugbeda, President of Ibaji Unity Forum, all paid glowing tributes to the life and times of Late Chief Mrs Awawo Uboyih Inaju, described her as a woman of positive virtues, said she lived a fulfilled life and would no doubt be greatly missed.

In a remarks by Inaju I. Inaju, son of Late Chief Mrs Awawo Uboyih Inaju, described the vaccum created by the demise of their mother as one that would be difficult to fill, expressed happiness that she lived a legacy of selfless services to humanity.

Late Chief Awawo Uboyi Inaju (Mrs) was born in 1929, died in year 2021, at the age of 92 years, is the first child of Mr. and Mrs. Opawa & Iwochi of Ivioghe Village of Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State.

Late Chief Awawo Uboyi Inaju (Mrs) is survived by 6 children, 3 male and 3 females, with many grandchildren and great grand Children.

The Interdenominational Wake-keep was held at Chief Inaju U Inaju compound, GRA extension, Lokoja, Kogi State.

Her body will depart Lokoja, Capital of Kogi State for her final resting place besides her late husband at Iyano village, in Ibaji LGA of Kogi State on 8th January 2022.

The Interdenominational Wake-keep was attended by people from all works of life, amongst whom are Judge Abel Enefola, Col. Sunday Babatunde RTD, United Nation, Hon. Benjamin Ajodo, Representing Ibaji Resort as well other personalities from across the country, who in their separate remarks and tributes described Late Chief Awawo Uboyi Inaju (Mrs) as a very friendly, humane and sincere woman who went the extra miles when necessary to put smiles on the faces of people she met in her life’s journey.
