The Niger State government has concluded plan to launch Contributory Health Scheme (NGSCHS) to provide quality health care services to it residents and reduce or eliminate out-of-
pocket (OOP) expenditures on health care.
The Commissioner for health and Hospital Services in the State, Dr Muhammad Muhammad Makusidi,stated this a press briefing in Minna the State Capital.
The Commissioner of Health said that over 50 thousands Vulnerable persons and Informal Sectors have started accessing the healthcare services in the state.
He stressed that the essence of launching the scheme is to show the commitment and
political will of the Government to the Scheme and to create awareness for the Scheme.
The Commissioner mentioned that the scheme is mandatory by law,will provide coverage for all Niger state
residents regardless of their socioeconomic status.
