NEW YEAR MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRPERSON OF KOGI NGOS NETWORK (KONGONET).

NEW YEAR MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRPERSON OF KOGI NGOS NETWORK (KONGONET).

Dear Esteemed Members of Civil Society Organizations, Government Officials, and Valued Stakeholders,

As we step into the New Year, I extend warm greetings and best wishes to each of you. The past year has been one of remarkable challenges and significant achievements for our community in Kogi State. Together, we have navigated the complexities of our socio-economic landscape, striving to uplift the lives of our citizens amidst trying circumstances.

We must acknowledge the resilience and commitment demonstrated by our civil society organizations, who have tirelessly worked to provide support, advocacy, and essential services to those in need. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and I commend each of you for the invaluable contributions made to enhance the well-being of our communities.

However, as we embark on this new journey, we must recognize that the challenges ahead are formidable. The recent removal of the fuel subsidy, alongside other economic pressures, has placed a significant strain on our citizens. Many are still feeling the impact of rising costs and diminished resources, making our work more critical than ever.

In light of these realities, I call upon all stakeholders—government, civil society, and private sector partners—to renew our commitment to collaboration and innovation. Let us upscale our interventions and expand our services to meet the pressing needs of our people. This is a call to action: to deepen our coordination, share resources, and develop sustainable solutions that address the root causes of poverty and inequality.

As we move forward, let us embrace the spirit of unity and purpose. Together, we can create a more resilient Kogi State, where every citizen has access to the opportunities and support they deserve. I urge you all to engage actively, share ideas, and work in concert to ensure that our collective efforts yield tangible results.

Wishing you all a prosperous and fulfilling New Year filled with hope, strength, and renewed determination to make a difference.

God bless you all!

*Amb. Idris Ozovehe Muraina*
Chairperson, Kogi NGOs Network (KONGONET)
Co-Chair, Kogi State Open Government Partnership (OGP)
