National Executive Committee of AFAN direct states to conduct elections into offices, appoints Hon Rabi Peace Emaiku as Secretary of the National Electoral Committee
National Executive Committee, NEC, of the All Famers Association of Nigeria, AFAN, has directed that all states should conduct elections into various offices.
To this end, a seven man electoral committee has been constituted for the purpose, with the Kogi State Chairperson of Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria, RIFAN, Hon. Mrs Rabi Peace Emaiku as Secretary of the National electoral committee, overseeing the AFAN elections across the states.
A statement by the National President, Architect Kabir Ibrahim after the NEC meeting noted that the appointment of Hon. Mrs Rabi Emaiku was based on her competence and wealth of experience over the years.
It expressed optimism that the electoral committee would ensure hitch free election as well as peaceful transition of leadership in all the States of the Federation.
The electoral committee is therefore expected to come up with template for the elections soon.
Hom. Mrs Rabi Emaiku was a former Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on Farmers Affairs under Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration.
