MOPA DAY: Hon. Karimi solicits supports for Gov. Bello, APC Led Federal Government


Two terms reps member for Yagba Federal Constituency, Hon. Sunday Karimi has called on  people of Mopamuro local government area to support Governor Yahaya Bello in his quest to move the state forward.

The APC stalwart also enjoyed people of the area and Kogi in entirety to support the APC led government at the national level so as to continue to enjoy the dividend of democracy.

Hon. Karimi made the call on Saturday at the sideline of this year Mopa day celebration.

Karimi in his message to the Mopa people noted that Governor Bello means well for the people and sincerely keen on infrastructural development of every part of the state.

He said all that is required is for political leaders, religious institutions, traditional rulers, stakeholders and indeed the people of Kogi State to give him the needed support for development to happen.

He said a critiques of Governor Bello’s administration shows that the governor has banished ethnicity, nepotism and tribal suspicion that have held the state down.

He said the appointment of government officials, citing of key infrastructural projects adequately reflects fairness, equity and even spread; which was absent in past administrations.

Karimi said the citing of Rice Mill in Kogi West, upgrading and rehabilitation of health institution , electrification and roads construction in the Senatorial district among  several other projects have demonstrated statesmanship.

Karimi attributed the slow pace of work on some projects in the state to the reduction in Federal allocation occasioned by the dwindling in oil revenue; but optimistic that all projects will be completed.

“Governor Bello therefore requires the prayers, solidarity and support of everyone to drive the state forward.”

The former Lawmaker also urged communities in the area to engage in development initiatives as it is becoming increasingly difficult for Government to provide all amenities.

He urged them to collaborate with Government for community development.

Karimi however made a donation of N500,000 to the community  which was aknowledged by the Mopa Development Association.

In a similar development, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo; Mopamuro Council chairman, Moses Sunday and two other appointees jointly donated N500,000 to the Community.
