LEKE TO ASPHALT BASSA ROAD Reports Emman Gwatana


Kogi State African Democratic Congress (ADC) party governorship candidate, Elder Leke Joseph Abejide has assured Bassa people that he will asphalt Orokwo-Bassa – Oguma road if elected as Kogi State governor.

 


Elder Abejide made this known when he paid a courtesy call on the Aguma of Bassa land His Royal Highness, William Keke in his palace at Oguma, the headquarters of Bassa Local Government Area.
Elder Abejide who was in Bassa for his campaign rally said as a God fearing Elder in the assembly of God when he makes a vow he must fulfill it noting that ” I feel the pains of Bassa people who are neglected for hundreds of years”.
The governorship candidate said the era of party affinity is gone as politics is now based on the positive pedigree of candidates contesting the governorship position in Kogi State. He declared that he was a “Joseph sent by God to salvage the pains of Kogi people”.
Elder Abejide averred that as a two term House of Representatives member at the National Assembly, his developmental marks ranging from construction of roads, provision of electricity, hospitals, women and youth empowerment dot the landscape of his federal constituency. He added that if elected he will rescue Kogi State from the doldrums of poverty and underdevelopment.
The governorship candidate thanked the people of Bassa land for trooping out en masse to wellcome him in their land. He assured them of the fair representation of Bassa people in his administration if elected.
Earlier the Bassa Local Government Area ADC Chairman, Hon Francis Momoh assured Elder Leke of the overwhelming support of Bassa people in the November 11, 2023 governorship election. He called on the governorship candidate to fulfill his campaign promises to Bassa people if elected as Kogi State governor.
