… Sen Karimi calls for collective efforts, promises to deliver on mandate.
The Election Tribunal sitting in Lokoja has upheld the election of Sen. Sunday Karimi, Representing Kogi West Senatorial District.
The Tribunal in it ruling affirmed the Election said after examining the Petition before it, dismissed the request of the petitioner in it’s entirety for lacking in merit and completely baseless. The tribunal said it found that the majority of lawful votes cast belonged to the APC and Sen. Karimi in the said election.
The Tribunal ruled in favor of Sen. Karimi, ordered that Hon. T.J Yusuf and PDP should pay fine of N150,000 each to the respondents. Sen. Karimi won all the grounds of the petition, excluding few votes from Chikara and Iye.
Recalled that Hon. T. J. Yusuf had petitioned the tribunal on the ground of non usage of the BVAS machine in some areas, accused the APC of rigging the election.
Reacting, Sen. Karimi said he remains most grateful to God, appreciated the good people of Kogi West, to whom the victory belongs.
“The choice of voting for me at the ballot has been further proven.
The judiciary has once again stood for the truth and defended our democracy and entrenched the rule of law through her judgment affirming my return and dismissing the Petitioner’s case on all the grounds”.
Consequently, I have sworn an oath and given you my words to represent you excellently well, by ensuring that your voices are heard and dividends of democracy brought to the grassroots even to the remotest areas.
I hereby admonish the good people of Kogi West Senatorial District to be patient with me as I deliver on my campaign promises of equal opportunity and good representation.
Needless to say that the cost and distractions of the frivolous tribunal case has slowed down my delivery of dividends of democracy to the people. Regardless, I am undeterred in my determination to improve the life of our people.
