The Kogi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has described the death of Prof. Matthew Idowu Ajibero as a great loss to the party, pointing out that his death is a big blow and setback to the Party in the State.
The PDP in a statement signed by Hon. Bode Ogunmola, State Publicity Secretary of the Party, said it is with a heavy heart that it received the devastating news of the demise of one of the finest of Kabba (Owe)/Okun patriots and illustrious sons, an erudite scholar and administrator par excellence who served two terms meritoriously as the Rector of the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.
The PDP described Prof. Ajibero as a major pillar of the Party in the State, says his death which occurred yesterday in Ilorin after a protracted illness hit the party like a thunderbolt.
The PDP described the death as a monumental loss to the Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi, said he will be greatly missed for his unweivering commitment to the State PDP in general.
The PDP described Professor Matthew Idowu Ajibero as an elder statesman who turned around the fortune of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja when he held sway as the Rector, described him as a worthy Chieftain of the Party From Kogi who’s selfless sacrifices knows no bounds.
The PDP described Prof. Ajibero as a distinguished personality and one of the major Party stakeholders that supported the party wholeheartedly in the State said he will be greatly missed having left a vaccum too difficult to fill.
The Party enjoined the PDP family in Kogi State to take solace in the words of God which says for everything under the sun there is time, a time to be born, and time to die.
The Party urged the wife of the deceased and children he left behind to continue to uphold his legacies of hard work, simplicity, perseverance, truthfulness and honesty, said his memories will continue forever remain in the minds of the members PDP in the State now and always.
