Kogi State Health Insurance Agency in Collaboration with National Health Insurance Authority and Hayok Medicare Nig. Limited has commenced the training of health Care workers in two hundred and thirty six primary health care facilities on Health Insurance Software for Encounter, Referral and Claims Management to ensure prompt dissemination of Enrollee data ,real time reporting on consultation , evidenced based medical practice with consequent reduction in medical error.
The Executive Secretary of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Adekunle Aledare made this known in a press statement made available to newsmen in Lokoja
Dr. Aledare stated that Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is key in health insurance and attainment of Universal Health Coverage .
The Executive Secretary noted that the aim of this training is to build the capacity of health workers to input data into the electronic medical record system of the Agency which will ensure seamless dissemination of patient information and data management for decision making
Dr. Aledare further made it clear that this training will help to facilitate easy data flow of 32,159 enrollees of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund and and 13,707 enrollees of the Bello care Programme .
He thanked His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for the strong Political and Financial Commitment to the Agency which has significantly impacted on the progress made by the Agency so far .
He applauded the exemplary leadership provided by the Honorable commissioner for health , Dr Zakari Usman who has consistently support the Agency in the discharge of her mandate
The Executive Secretary also commended The National Health insurance Authority for the Funding and Technical support provided to the Agency through the Basic Health Care Provision Fund which is a grant from the Federal Government to States to provide Basic Minimum Package of Health Services to the Vulnerables in the State .
He enjoined the health workers to take advantage of this training to improve their Information technology skills which has the propensity to provide patient-centered health care information dissemination at a lower cost
