The Kogi State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has boosted the activities of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja with donations of 10 laptop computers to strengthen the institution’s Information and Communication Technology(ICT).
This was announced when the Honorable Commissioner in charge of the Ministry, Barrister Salami Mohamodu Ozigi, paid a courtesy visit on the Rector the Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman on Tuesday, 31st of August, 2021.
Barrister Ozigi who expressed delight over Dr. Usman’s transformation of the institution noted that the ongoing reform was in line with His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello’s vision for the sustainability of education in the state.
He said the Rector has distinguished himself among others and has value for securing relationship with people who share in the New Direction blueprint.
The Honorable Commissioner who was visiting the Polytechnic for the first time in a long while also expressed delight with the ongoing physical reforms on campus just as he promised more support to the institution.
Earlier, The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic , Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman appreciated Honorable Mohamodu Ozigi for the August visit, describing the Commissioner as one of the chief drivers of the New Direction government.
Dr. Usman noted that Barrister Ozigi’s appointment is one of the best in the history of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Kogi State as he has achieved tremendously.
He however called for more collaboration from relevant organizations and individuals to raise the standard of Education in the institution.
On his part, the Deputy Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr. Kehinde Felix Lamidi thanked Barrister Salami Mohamodu Ozigi for the visit and the gesture to the institution, just as he wished him more knowledge and wisdom to pilot the affairs of his Ministry for the betterment of the State.
On the entourage of the Honorable Commissioner were his Technical Assistant, Mr Arome Alfa and the Director of Account of the Ministry, Mr. Abdulraheem Sanni.
Among the top Officers of Kogi State Polytechnic who joined the Rector to receive the Commissioner were the Registrar, Elder Sunday Aiyeetan, the Polytechnic Librarian, Mrs Ozohu Omolola Mohammed Audu, Director of Works and Services, EngineerAdamu Ayni Abdullahi and the Director of the Polytechnic Consultancy Services, Engineer Salisu Salawu Ijiji.
