Rt. Hon. Prince Matthew Kolawole, Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly has admonished Muslim faithfuls in Nigeria and particularly in Kogi State to use the occasion of this year’s Ramadan to pray for both the Nation and the State.
He said it is another Ramadan, the special month of Du’a ( supplication) and Dhikr (Allah’s remembrance), the month of zakah and sadaqah ( giving to the poor and charity) and the month of Qiyamul-Layl standing in the night for prayers.
He urged all Muslim faithfuls as they observe this year’s Ramadan to ensure that they pray fervently for an end to the security menace of kidnapping, banditry and other challenges bedevilling the country.
He said though Kogi state is relatively safe occasioned by the proactive measures put in place by Governor Yahaya Bello, the collective prayers during the Holy Month of Ramadan will go a long way for the state.
He called on well-meaning individuals and corporate organizations to reach out to the less privileged in the society especially our Muslim brothers and sisters that are fasting.
He prayed that God would grant them their heart desires during the fasting and prayer.
Ramadan Kareem
Signed:
Femi Olugbemi,
Chief Press Secretary to the Honourable Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly
