The Kogi State Government recorded another milestone as the Agro climatic resilience in arid and semi arid landscape project, ACReSAL State Steering and Technical Committees were inaugurated yesterday , by the Secretary to Government of Kogi State, Dr. Ayoade Folashade Arike.
Delivering the Opening remarks, the Hon. Commissioner for Environment, Omofaiye Victor Adewale congratulated His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for the successful inclusion of Kogi State in the ACReSAL Project, which ” aims at stemming the tide of desert encroachment, land degradation, gully erosion, and poverty alleviation in a sustainable manner.
Delivering the vote of thanks on the occasion, the Project Coordinator, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto thanked His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for his unflinching support to NEWMAP, which is hinged on his complete lack of tolerance to environmental degradation…
The Project Coordinator further assured the gathering that the ACReSAL Project, in addition to its many interventions, equally aims to bring about sustainable development through its Community Revolving Fund (CRF), which would be made available for the economic empowerment of communities of intervention.
Barr. Jatto further thanked the Hon. Commissioner for Environment, as well as the Permanent Secretary, MENR for the robust and cordial working relationship between the trio, and hoped that same would be replicated in the ACReSAL Project.
Concluding, the Project Coordinator assured His Excellency that the privilege to serve would not be taken for granted, and would be discharged with utmost credibility!!!
