Kogi NYCN Visit Agriculture Commissioner, Expresses Members Willingness to Take to Farming, Solicits Government Support
The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter, says it has positioned members to take to farming as vocation towards the much talked about food sufficiency.
The Chairman of the Chapter, Comr. Ben Jerry made the disclosure when Council paid a visit to the Hon. Timothy Ojoma, Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security.
The NYCN disclosed that it members are now poised to take into agriculture, urged for the needed support in terms of working implements and finance to motivate members.
The NYCN Chairman described the administration of Gov Usman Ahmed Ododo as one that has made agriculture a priority and attractive, reason why the Council has aligned itself with the vision for improved food sufficiency.
The NYCN described the Commissioner as a round peg in a round hole, said since his assumption of office, he has proven that he is running with the vision and mission of Gov Usman Ahmed Ododo in ensuring that the State becomes a food basket.
In his remarks, the Commissioner, Hon. Timothy Ojoma, expressed satisfaction with the zeal of the State NYCN, assured of all the needed support to make them engage in farming.
He described agriculture as a top priority of the present administration of Gov Ododo, said the State is set to become a nations food basket and exporter of agriculture produce.
