KOGI NSCDC COOPERATIVE SOCIETY DECLARES ABOUT EIGHT MILLION NAIRA DIVIDENDS, PROMISES TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY


 

The outgoing Kogi State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Suleiman Mafara says cooperative societies should be strengthened for the financial upliftment of members.

 

Mafara made the remark at the 14th Annual General Meeting of the Staff Cooperative Investment and Credit Society of the command in Lokoja.

 

 

 

He stated that there was need for members to show sense of commitment by ensuring quality leadership.

According to him, there should be no compromise in that direction and commended the present management of the cooperative for holding the AGM after six years.

In his speech, the Chairman of the Cooperative Society, Mr Monday Janagwu said the challenges were emormous due to several reasons.

Mr Janagwu however said his leadership was declaring about eight million naira as dividends to members for the year under review.

The Cooperative Chairman enumerated their achievements to include upgrade of cooperative activities from analogue to digital, loan to over four hundred members, bank loans to over four hundred members, car supply to nineteen members, supply of essential commodities as well as retirement and death benefits among others.

He called for the cooperation of members in order to overcome the inherited problems.

Mr Janagwu promised to leave an enduring legacy through transparency and accountability, urging those with complaints to forward them for immediate attention.

The Auditor, Wada Solomon Aruwa and Financial Secretary, Dorcas Aduojo Maneju had presented their reports to the Congress.

Present at the AGM were the Deputy state Commandant, other Management staff of the command and cooperators from across the various offices of the NSCDC in Kogi state.
