As the Governorship election in Kogi State holds on Saturday, the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of a Non Governmental Organization, Africa Youth Growth Foundation, AYGF, Doctor Arome Salifu has stressed the need for rancour free election.
Doctor Arome Salifu while speaking with Our Reporter, said the people should demonstrate their civic rights devoid of violence.
According to him, there is no alternative to peace, noting that the Africa Youth Growth Foundation remains committed to youth development in all ramifications.
“Let me be emphatic at this point that Out Organization is poised to ensure total youths development, which is why we will not shy away from advising youths on peaceful conduct, before, during and after the coming election. As a matter of fact, all eyes are on Kogi State and we as a people should not be seen as not responsible”, he avered.
The Chief Executive Officer maintained that the Country’s democratic process can only be strengthened when elections are seen to be free, fair and credible.
He particularly advised youths to avoid violence of whatever form, but encourage peaceful election process to allow the people vote for candidates of their choice.
Doctor Arome emphasized that Nigerians were keenly watching the coming election, stressing that election is not war, but a development process.
The Founder of Africa Youth Growth Foundation also urged the security personnel to be alive to their responsibilities by remaining apolitical towards free, fair and credible election that would be a pride to all.
Doctor Arome advised the security to give proper attention to flash points in order to avoid loss of lives and property.
