Kogi Government Discloses Efforts to scale up fight, control of HIV/AIDS – Ex. Sec. KOSACA


 

The Executive Secretary, Kogi State Agency for the Control of Aids, Dr. Yunusa Sheidu says efforts is on to scale up the fight and control of HIV in the State if the HIV Administration Fund 3 is accessed by the Government.

 

Dr. Yunusa made the disclosure at the flag off of Nutritional support program for children living and affected by HIV/AIDs in Kogi State organized but Dual Care
and HIV prevention Initiative held at blossom place, suit 14, beside Hero petrol Station.

 

The Executive Secretary KOSACA pledged the readiness of the present administration in the state to continue to prioritize health interventions that will address killer diseases and public health emergencies.

He applauded Dual Care Foundation Initiatives for its forward thinking in mobilizing private sector support for persons infected and affected by HIV/AIDS, pointing out that her efforts is making the desired impact.

 

He tasked citizens and other NGOs to work in partnership with the state government in the fight against HIV/AIDs as well as in the provision of support, described the efforts of Dual Care Initiatives and Prevention as worthy of emulation.

He charged Nigerians to learn to give back to the society through their support and contributions to the fight and prevention of HIV/AIDS in the State.

In a remarks, the State Chairman, KOGI NON –GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION NETWORK (KONGONET), Idris Ozovehe Muraina, lauded the commitment of Dual Care Foundation Initiative to the vulnerable in the society, appreciated the Executive Secretary for her support and intervention to people infected and affected by HIV/AIDs.

The KONGONET Chairman, used the occasion to call on funders to support NGOs making intervention in HIV/AIDs in the state, pointing out that such support would compliment the efforts of the State Government.

Pastor Hon. Roseline Alabi, Executive Director, Dual Care and HIV Prevention Initiative, said her intervention in the vulnerable, people affected and infected by HIV/AIDs is a promised made to God to reach difficult terrain.

She disclosed that the Nutritional support program for children living with HIV/ people affected with HIV/AIDs is her efforts, with the support of some individuals who have assisted greatly in ameliorating the plights of people living with HIV/AIDs.

Pastor Hon. Alabi, paid glowing tribute to Gov. Yahaya Bello for his love for the vulnerable and indegents in the society, appreciated him for the appointment given to her, promised to use the opportunity to make more impact, individually and working with the State Government.

Pastor Hon. Roseline equally praised Mr. Femi Akande of Treasure Bakery for sponsoring about 200 children living and affected by HIV in the state.

The Ex. Dir. Dual Care equally thanked Hon Mimi, the focal person for Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku Youth Empowerment Foundation for all the support she is rendering to assisting the vulnerable in the society.

 

Pastor Hon. Roseline Alabi is also the State Coordinator Society for Water and Sanitation, North Central and Coordinator of Civil Society Organization on the Health Rights of Women and Girls and Children was recently appointed the Chairman of KOSACA.
