The Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Asiwaju Idris has described the Acting Dir. Of Budget, Mr Olajide Samuel, as a dedicated and consistent esteemed Office holder.
The commissioner stated this while reacting to the prestigious productivity award presented to the Director of Budget, by the National Productivity Center under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment.
The Commissioner while appreciating his efforts and contributions to the development of the state, said the recognition by the National Productivity
center is no doubt coming after tremendous efforts and time he has dedicated to the discharge of his duty.
Hon. Idris who described the Director of Budget as someone who sees every challenge as an opportunity to succeed said, he was not astounded by his achievements but remains optimistic that the award will spur him to do more for the state.
He urged other civil servants to be more diligent in their duty and said, this should be a wake up call to workers that government will not not fail to recognise and reward hard work. He called for more support for the present administration and advised that the interest of the state should supersede all personal interest.
According to the organisers of the event, the National Pubic Sector Leadership and Productivity Award is to recognise and celebrate individuals and organizations in the Nigerian Public Sector who have played exceptional roles in enabling and facilitating growth in the total factor productivity and by extension, the national gross implementation and institutionalization of forwards looking policy directions, projects delivery and process improvement in areas of budgeting and public finance, economy, agriculture, health, labour amongst others.
Earlier, the Director for Budget, Mr Olajide Samuel said he was elated by the recognition given to him and dedicated the award to God Almighty and also to the state government, who have provided him with the opportunity to serve the state.
He commended the Commissioner for demonstrating good exemplary qualities worthy of emulation.
He also used the medium to thank his colleagues and staff of the ministry for the show of love and the cordial relationship he enjoys with them.
