The Kogi State Government says it has signed a memorandum of understanding to put the National incubation centre located in the State into use.
The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon Wemi Jones, stated this in an interview, said towards ensuring that the state gets the benefit of the Federal Government Establishment in the State, it has entered into an understanding as approved by the State Governor to put the National incubation centre
into use.
The Commissioner explained that the strategic position of the state places it in a vantage to utilize the Incubation centre to nurture the potentials located in the State through the Incubation centre, assured that soon it begin fill operation.
Hon. Jones explained that when put into use, the incubation centre would afford for scientific research that would enable the state explore the possibility of maximizing its natural resources using Technology.
He further revealed that towards leveraging on the use of sciences, the state Government he added is currently building GYB model Science schools across the state.
Hon. Jones said the construction of the GYB model Science schools is simultaneously going on in the three Senatorial District, reiterated the commitment of Gov Bello to repositioning the Education Sector of the state.
While noting that the government is putting in place mechanism for a statewide sensitization that would enable operators in the education sector have a full grasp of the recently passed education law, explained that his Ministry would before the new session meet with critical stakeholders in the three Senatorial District to explain the content of the law.
He particularly explained that the education law makes provision for penalties for those that would be found wanting, stressed that the law when fully operational would help reposition the Education Sector.
The Commissioner maintained that the present administration has placed Education Sector in the front burner, expressed satisfaction with the achievements made by Gov. Bello thus far In making education the bedrock of sustainable development.
