Kabba celebrates Banji Jimoh, APC governorship aspirant, role model, and Philanthropist

The ancient town of Kabba will next week stand still to celebrate an industrious, easy going goal -getter and a son of the soil who is a pride to okun people and kogi state, Prince Adebanji David Jimoh.
The man of astounding mien and electrifying gait popularly known and called Banji Jimoh is among few prominent individuals who will be given award of excellence by The Ilajo Royal family during the celebration of the 2024 Odide Day Cultural celebration holding at the Lisa Palm Hotel, kabba on Saturday December 28.
Banji Jimoh will be honoured in a colourful ceremony that will draw the Creme De la Creme of the society with the award of ” Advocate of Peace and Development for Owe Land”
He was spotted out for his outstanding philantrophic gestures and specifically for influencing the siting of three major banks to kabba town, providing job opportunities for dozens of youths, providing street lights to strategic areas in the town and giving scholarship to many under privileged students, among others.
Born on September 8, 1966, into The Royal Family, Prince Adebanji is a renowned banker and a distinguished entrepreneur who has carved an enviable niche for himself
Banji Jimoh is a grass root man who loves the poor and has continuously supported the needy in the community. His passion for service and egalitarian society was perhaps one of the things that moved him to leave his well paying job to join the 2023 kogi state governorship race under the ruling party, the All Progressive Congress
As a fair-minded, loyal, and dutiful party man, he stepped down for the incumbent governor Usman Ododo at the primary election wholeheartedly abiding with the party’s direction
Banji has had an illustrious educational background, attending prestigious institutions such as St. Paul’s Primary School, St. Augustine’s College and the University of Ibadan, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics(Second Class Upper Division) and currently a PhD. Finance Student.
Prince Adebanji has had a successful career spanning over three decades in the finance sector, holding executive positions in several banks, including Access Bank, where he served as Regional Sales Director(North East; North Central and Abuja)
He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of DCL Finance Limited and a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Techs & Concrete Limited. He is an Honourable Members of the Chartered Institute of Bankers(HCIB) and a Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration (FICA) of Nigeria.
A leading philanthropist, Prince Adebanji, has influenced the establishment of several cooperative societies in support of entrepreneurship. In 2006, he identified the need for a streetlight at Kabba Central Market and funded it as the first streetlight ever in Kabba.
He also influenced the birth of the United Bank for Africa, Union Bank, and Access Bank in kabba, which have led to the socio – economic development of Kogi West. In addition to the above, he has supported several indigent students with school fees at various levels over the years, and he is a major financier of Extra-moral lessons for son and daughters (many decades)of Oweland – Kabba , thereby helping in promoting education, as well as rapid cultural and socio – economic development
He is also an active member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the National Level and has sponsored various initiatives, including the 2023 Tinubu/Shettima Religious Leaders and Ethic Nationalities Congress in Jos, Northern Nigeria.
Prince Adebanji has received several awards for his outstanding contributions, including a certificate of commendation from the Federal Government in 2023 for his work in the MSME sector. He is happily married to Pastor (Mrs) Angelina Adebanji JP and has children.
Banji Jimoh is a leading light and a role model to hundreds of youths in the country.
