IT IS TIME TO WORK
A letter to Ododo’s Ward Special Assistants

By Chris Ben-Kato
Senior Special Assistant on information and public communication

First and foremost let me congratulate all of us that were recently by our amiable Chief Servant of Kogi State His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo. I also specially congratulate all the appointed Ward Special Assistants across the twenty one Local Government Area of the state and every other stakeholder appointed by His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
It is a rare priveledge to be giving such an appointment to widen our political horizon at the grassroots level. It is also an opportunity to reach out directly to the electorates living in all the rural areas of Kogi State.
No doubt our amiable and God fearing Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo created history by taking governance to the grassroots through the appointment of the Ward Special Assistants. This of course is the first of its kind in the history of the state and the governor deserve a pat on his back for this vintage political step he took.
It is no longer news that Kogi State as a whole is sitting on agrarian landscape even as majority of her people resides in rural areas. The decision of the governor to appoint Ward Special Assistants was therefore beyond political but a right step to ensure our people living in rural areas have a feel of the All Progressives Congress (APC) party led-administration in the state.
As the appointees of government residing in rural areas we owe it a duty to promote government policy direction and its activities to the electorates living in the rural areas. The people must well be acquainted on whatever government is doing from time to time. This indeed will give them a good sense of belonging on the administration of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo who is the chief servant of the state.
As appointees of government it is our duty to ensure that the people living at the grassroots have the right information on the governor’s policy direction while we bring back good report as feedback to the governor . By so doing our amiable governor will directly understand the feelings of the people at the grassroots and fashion immediate means of reaching out to the people living at the grassroots.
As Special Assistants to the governor at the grassroots level our job is very enormous. The people are always eager to have an understanding of government’s daily policy direction. We must fill this gap by giving them the right information on government activities from to time.
Together we can make the administration of His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo succeed. Together we can make Kogi State great.
Wishing all of us a successful tenure of office.
Long live His Excellency, the Chief Servant of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Long live Kogi State.
