Hon Mark OKPANACHI Ogah Celebrates Nigerian Teachers @Teachers Day

Today, as we celebrate Teachers’ Day, I want to take a moment to express my deepest appreciation for the tireless efforts of Nigerian teachers. I understand the vital role teachers play in shaping the future of our nation.

Notably, despite the challenges they face, teachers continue to inspire and nurture young minds, laying the foundation for a brighter tomorrow. Their impact extends beyond the classroom, influencing the social, emotional, and cognitive development of our children. It is imperative that we recognise the value they bring to our society and reciprocate with tangible support.

In my previous roles, I prioritised the welfare of teachers and students, recognising that investing in education is investing in the future of our country. I firmly believe that our teachers deserve not only our gratitude but also our support and recognition. This conviction has driven my initiatives aimed at enhancing the teaching and learning experience in Kogi State and by extension, Nigeria at large.

As we mark this special day, I join other leaders in celebrating the contributions of Nigerian teachers. I urge the government to continue prioritising education and providing the necessary resources to enhance the teaching and learning experience.

To achieve this, we must focus on key areas of development. Firstly, improved remuneration is crucial to enhance teachers’ salaries and benefits, reflecting their value to society. Secondly, professional development opportunities should be provided for continuous training and capacity building. Thirdly, infrastructure development is essential to upgrade school facilities and create a conducive learning environment. Lastly, prioritising teacher welfare ensures their well-being and safety.

In conclusion, as we celebrate World Teachers’ Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to supporting our educators. I say thank you to all Nigerian teachers for your tireless efforts, commitment to excellence, and unwavering dedication to the future of our nation. Let us work together to create a better future for our educators and, by extension, our nation. Happy World Teachers’ Day!

Signed:
Hon Mark OKPANACHI Ogah
