The Major Aspirant of the Kogi State 2023 Governorship Election, Hon. Dayo Akanmode, has flagged-off the distribution of free Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board, JAMB, forms to prospective candidates from Gbede District, Ijumu LGA in the state.
The popular Aspirant, who stated this at the weekend, said he will also reward the best performing candidates in the JAMB examination, to further encourage them to put in their best in the examination.
Hon Dayo, who described the gesture as his “Education Support Programme” to support parents and students in the constituency, said he was compelled to embark on the exercise because there are many brilliant students from poor homes who may wish to go to further their education beyond secondary school, but with parents who cannot afford the fees. “There are also orphans who have lost their parents without having anyone to cater for them educationally,” he said.
The National President,National Association of Gbede Student (NAGS),Comr Sikiru Olamide and his executives who were in attendance to receive the jamb form, express their sincere and profound gratitude for his past support and contribution towards the upliftment of the Gbede student union and the entire development of Gbede land.
The Governorship Aspirant charge the union to be transparent in the screening and data capturing process,so as to ensure that it is given to those who really need it and cannot afford it.
The Parents and Guidance of the beneficiaries, who spoke with the news men, were full of appreciation to the politician, describing him as a true representative of the masses.and shower him with prayers.
Noting that education remains the key to all success. He further asked beneficiaries to avoid every vices but pay maximum interest to their studies.
