The Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Caretaker Chairman, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael said he cannot run the race by himself hence his decision to seek the backing of the ward executives to actualize his ambition.
Zacchaeus, who is seeking to contest the chairmanship on the platform of the APC, at the meeting with the Bolorunduro/Odoakete ward executives, spoke on his plans for the local government area, and how working with Kogi State Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has given him the needed experience.
A frontline aspirant and the founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Kabba/Bunu LGA, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael, met with the party’s ward executives at the Bolorunduro/Odoakete ward chairman residence on Sunday.
Zacchaeus, who arrived at the meeting at around 4 p.m. on Sunday, was present to seek the support, counsel and partnership of the ward executives for his chairmanship ambition which he described as a “purposeful ambition.”
Present at the meeting was the ward leader, Hon Sunday Ojo aka Auditor, LGA APC secretary, Hon Charles Olorunmaiye, members of the transition committee and APC loyalists.
At the gathering, Zacchaeus said with the 2024 local government elections coming close, he cannot run the race by himself hence, his decision to seek the backing of my ward executives, which he said will help him successfully actualise his ambition.
He appealed to the executives to help him win the primaries so that he could consolidate his “Transformative Agenda” for the local government area.
He said having served as an executive secretary in an agency and as a caretaker chairman, he has the experience and capacity to be the substantial chairman for Kabba/Bunu LGA.
“I came for your counsel, partnership and support.
“Election is coming. Our party’s primary is near. I need our party’s chairmanship ticket. I can’t achieve it by sitting at home. I believe, jointly, we can do it. I hope you can back me successfully for the aspiration of my purposeful ambition.
“Going by the counsel of the wise that says, ‘If you want to go fast, do it alone. If you want to go faster, go together.’ I am asking for that team support to get me nominated by the party and eventually elected as the executive chairman of Kabba/Bunu LGA. I urge you to look at my capacity and experience.”
While he praised the executives for sustaining the state’s democracy, he assured that the APC is doing its best to integrate the interest of the party executives to leadership and governance.
In his response, the ward chairman, Chief Joseph Badmos assured the caretaker chairman of the wards’ support, adding that the latter performed well as a caretaker chairman and had the required experience.
