The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones (FCIB) has said at the weekend that Governor Yahaya Bello has a clear focus of laying a solid foundation for sustainable educational system in the state.
He said the present administration had to rejig the old system to carve out a new order that would stand the test of time, while stressing government’s commitment to continuous improvement of the education sector, being the veritable tool to all round development of the state and her citizenry.
Discussing with the Ebbira People’s Association led by HRH Alhaji Dr. Shuaibu Ali, the Adeika of Ezi-Onogwu on the way forward for Ebbira Community Secondary School in Ogaminana, Adavi LGA, Wemi Jones said GYB’s administration is favourably disposed towards human development and would promptly address complaints at redressing the state’s educational system.
He said government is currently addressing the welfare of teachers, explaining that the approval of Earned Academic Allowance(EAA) to lecturers at the Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), was notable among the numerous incentives for teachers in the state.
The Commissioner commended the Ebirra Progressive Association for their partnership with government in the development of Ebbira Community Secondary School; praising the school for her good records.
He promised that the Ministry would continue to dialogue with education stakeholders to bring the best out of the schools in the state.
Earlier, HRH Alhaji Dr. Shuaibu Ali said the purpose of the visit was to discuss on the way forward for Ebbira Community Secondary School.
He pledged the unalloyed support of his people to the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello and prayed for good success for the state government.
