The Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC) ha s charged President Muhammadu Buhari to always base his appointments on the past antecedence of appointees in terms of experience, commitment and dexterity to duty.
Speaking at a press conference in Lokoja on Tuesday, the a North Central leader and Kogi state chairman of the Congress Comrade Alfa Ebune, said from the independent assessment of federal civil servants conducted by NYC across the country, the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Correctional Service Board , Alhaji Saleh Al-Hassan Yakmut, has distinguished himself as thorough public servant who used his experience to turn around the fortune of the board.
The NYC leader in North central and kogi state chairman described him as a public servant who believe in integrity , transparency and honesty in his dealing with the general public, saying that he has used his position to boost the development of the board through a lot of laudable innovations
“Yakmut has brought a lot of innovative ideas and transformation to the board. We are not surprised because when he held the position of Director General of National Sport Commission , he allowed
transparency and accountability to be his watch dog which translated to the country’s ability in wining many laurels in competitions.
“And currently at board of Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Correctional Service, Alhaji Yakmut has shown tremendous development both in human and material resources with series of his foot print that is already showing on the sand of time .
“As Secretary of the board, he brought an electronic documents center, archiving of data for all officers in the four para-military, beautification of the boards physical structure among others” he stated.
While commending the dexterity of Alhaji Yakmut in the discharge of his duty Comrade Ebune urged him not to relent in his effort to ensure that the right things are done in the board.
The leadership of NYC , therefore recommended him to the president higher responsibility to use his wealth of experience to contribute his quota to the development of the country.
